FAQ

Where is the ceremony taking place, and how do I get there?
The ceremony is taking place at Holy Trinity & St Constantine Church in Wetheral. We recommend driving or carsharing with other guests whenever possible.
Where is the reception taking place, and how do I get there?
The reception will be held at Wyeknot Farm, Brampton, CA8 1QZ. We recommend driving or carsharing with other guests; please allow extra time for rural roads.
What airports should I fly into?
Nearest major airports (approximate drive times):
  • Newcastle (NCL): ~1–1.5 hours
  • Glasgow (GLA): ~1.75–2 hours
  • Manchester (MAN): ~2–2.5 hours
  • Edinburgh (EDI): ~2–2.5 hours
Is there parking available at the ceremony and reception?
Yes. There is limited street parking near the church, and grass/field parking will be available at the reception.
Will transportation be provided between the ceremony and reception?
Transportation will not be provided. Please plan your own travel between the church and the reception venue! Many guests will be travelling between the ceremony and venue by car, so there should be the potential to car share.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes — both the ceremony and reception locations are wheelchair accessible. If you have specific access requirements, please let us know on your RSVP.
What time should guests arrive?
We’ll share arrival time details once the ceremony schedule is finalised. Please check this page or your invitation for the confirmed times.
What is the wedding dress code?
Festive formal/garden party

We invite you to dress up to celebrate our day!

Think nice dresses (hats welcome if you’d like!) and suits with ties.

We’d love to see bright colours, florals, and summery patterns.

We’ll also be dancing the night away with a ceilidh, so kilts are very welcome.

The marquee and dance floor have a hard floor, but parts of the farm have a grassy garden — so you may want to choose footwear accordingly (heels are welcome, but you might sink in a bit!).
What are the wedding colours?
Our wedding colours are sage green, dusty pink and soft ivory.
Sage Green
Dusty Pink
Soft Ivory
What is the dress expectation for the rehearsal dinner (if invited)?
We’ll share more details closer to the date, but expect something between dressy-casual and semi-formal.
Will food and drinks be served?
Yes — food and drinks will be served at the reception. We will post menu details and any special options on this site once they are confirmed.
Will there be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?
There will be at least one vegetarian option. If you have other dietary requirements (vegan, gluten-free, allergies, etc.), please note them on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
What time does the reception end?
There is no set end-time for the reception - you are welcome to dance with us into the wee hours! You are welcome to leave your car parked overnight.
Will there be a backup plan if it rains?
No - there is no backup plan! The ceremony is indoors, and the reception will have a marquee, but otherwise you may get wet; please plan accordingly!
Is the reception outdoors, and should I plan footwear accordingly?
Yes — the reception will take place in the groom’s parents' backyard. We recommend comfortable shoes suitable for grass and uneven ground. The marquee and dancefloor will have a hard floor, with a gritted track to reach it.
Should I bring anything to prepare for an outdoor reception?
No special items are required, but you might like a light wrap or jacket for the evening. We’ll provide anything essential on the day.
Are we allowed to take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that no photos be taken during the ceremony because we have a professional photographer. Photos are welcome at the reception, but please wait to share anything on social media until we have posted our official photos.
Do I need a travel adapter for my electronics?
Yes — visitors from abroad will need a U.K. plug adapter (Type G).
Do I need to bring cash for anything at the wedding?
You won’t need cash for anything wedding-related — food and drinks will be provided. If you’re travelling from abroad, a small amount of cash can be handy for taxis or incidental purchases, but cards are accepted widely.
What currency should I use, and are credit cards widely accepted?
The currency in the U.K. is the British Pound (GBP). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, including at small shops and many taxis. Contactless payment is very common.
Do I need to tip in the U.K., and what is the norm?
Tipping is less customary than in some other countries. Restaurants sometimes add a service charge (around 10–12%); if not, a small tip is appreciated but not expected.
What weather should I expect in England in early August?
Early August is usually mild: roughly 18–24°C (mid-60s to mid-70s °F). Weather can be changeable, so light layers and a compact umbrella are sensible.
Are taxis easily available where the reception is located?
Taxis are available in the area, though pre-booking is recommended for evenings and peak times. (We will add recommended taxi/contact links here when finalised.)
What is the RSVP deadline, and how do I submit it?
Please RSVP by April 30th. You can RSVP directly through this website.
Where is the gift registry located?
We do not have a gift registry - we are over the moon that so many of you are travelling a long way to celebrate with us and no gifts are required or expected. However, for those who wish to, we would welcome any contribution towards our honeymoon.
Will there be an after-party or next-day brunch?
We’re not planning an official after-party or next-day brunch. The only pre-wedding gathering will be a rehearsal dinner for those involved in the ceremony.
Do we need to rent a car?
We highly recommend renting a car if you're able to. Taxis and public transport are limited locally, so a car will give you the most flexibility and peace of mind. However, there are train connections to the area.
Where should we stay?
Carlisle is a great option for accommodation. It's well connected by train and sits on the train line to Brampton, making it an easy base with plenty of hotels and places to stay. Brampton itself is also an option and is closer to the venue, but availability is more limited, so we'd recommend booking early if you're hoping to stay there.
Are children invited?
Yes — children are very welcome. If there are any age-specific notes, we will include them on your invitation.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Plus-ones are only included if they were listed on your invitation. If you’re unsure, please reach out to the contact listed on your invite or contact:
What is the best way to contact the wedding couple if I have questions?
